Earth Hour - KarthXLR - 03-28-2009 Is anybody doing this tonight? I am just because I'm stupid. Re: Earth Hour - fyre - 03-28-2009 I'm not just because I'm lazy. That's cool if you do it though. That's a bad reason for doing it... at least you will do it. I hope you realise that it's not a whole stupid thing. People actually do this for a good reason, it's to send a message to our country leaders, that we want their next meeting in... Copenhagen, I believe, to result in important -positive- changes for the environnement. But as long as you do it, I guess it's what matters, Karthy. Re: Earth Hour - Dave - 03-28-2009 earth hour? Re: Earth Hour - Surf314 - 03-28-2009 Yea and all the candles and shit plus having to cool/heat a house from scratch probably does wonders for the planet. How about everyone buys some CFLs or switches out an old appliance for an energy star one instead. And I believe they are worse for the environment due to production by-products but do not have any substantiating documentation at hand, nor do I have the intent of searching for any. That doesn't count at all now does it. Oh well, I am now one step closer to my ultimate goal of becoming a Captain Planet villain. brbpeeinginocean Re: Earth Hour - Luinbariel - 03-29-2009 GOD DAMNIT I planned to do this and then totally forgot. :/ Re: Earth Hour - A. Crow - 03-29-2009 Horray! Lets all drastically reduce our power consumption, very quickly, all at once, everywhere! No, it couldn't needlessly stress our power grid and create more work/pollution in the long run. Why, that'd be like pumping a 20 metric asstons of pollutants into the air to create highly toxic batteries for electric cars to replace conventional ones that would have only created 12 metric asstons over their life time. Re: Earth Hour - Dave - 03-29-2009 (03-29-2009, 07:44 AM)A. We're doing it wrong. Re: Earth Hour - Greatbacon - 03-29-2009 My friends and I spent the better part of the night running two TVs, two XBox360s, lights, controllers, an oven, and the heater. Fuck your hippie shit. Re: Earth Hour - Geoff - 03-29-2009 Last night I was watching tv, on the computer, texting my girlfriend, running the wash, all with the lights on. And I left the computer on all night. Oh, I'm just that bad. Re: Earth Hour - Honest - 03-29-2009 Buahaha take that Planeteers!~ *flies off in a hot air balloon powered by endangered animals* |
