sound not working - Versus - 04-05-2009 so...yeah, my sound isn't working. When I turned it on Saturday night after getting back from Chicago, it wasn't working. Yes, everything is plugged in; no, mute is not on; yes, my soundcard is securely attached to my motherboard; no, I haven't installed sound drivers recently; yes, I have tried restarting my computer. Re: sound not working - CaffeinePowered - 04-06-2009 Try turning your speakers on : In all seriousness I got nothing, if you've tried drivers and everything, do you have both a card and onboard? Try using the other if you do. Re: sound not working - Versus - 04-06-2009 I haven't tried new drivers yet, but if no one suggests anything else I'll do that As for onboard, I don't even know if I have onboard, and I wouldn't know what cord would even go in onboard...my headphones have three cords coming out of it :-X Re: sound not working - Wedge - 04-06-2009 I would find it hard to believe you don't have onboard sound. It would be the OTHER set of audio jacks that have nothing plugged into them. It'd be a 1x3 or 2x3 set depending on your mobo. Re: sound not working - Vongore - 04-06-2009 This happened to me once when i downloaded a huge Vista update. I had to download some new drivers that were compatible with the new update and ta-dah, now i can hear Kor's sexy voice again Re: sound not working - Versus - 04-06-2009 new drivers say I don't have a soundcard : device manager says a "PCI Device" has a problem, and I only have one: my soundcard. D: Re: sound not working - Mission Difficult - 04-06-2009 What kind of soundcard do you have? I had a problem similar to this with my creative card and newer drivers. Had to search around a lot to find a version that would work. Re: sound not working - Versus - 04-12-2009 ...it wasn't plugged in all the way, which makes no sense at all...Windows detected it even when it wasn't plugged in completely... : Re: sound not working - Versus - 04-13-2009 fuck, broke my headphones.
