Never actually played this one (only 2,) but even if the latter came out, I'm not sure I'd buy it. After redownloading RE1 I was forced to come to grips with the fact that I just plain can't play these games anymore. The controls are just to shit, and I don't have the patience to grapple with them

Well, SH2 allowed relative camera controls, but I don't remember if SH1 did.  I'm pretty sure it didn't, but at least you still had control of the camera.  In any case, they're nothing like RE's shitty controls, you can have an over the shoulderish camera and strafe in SH games.

Yeah, that whole era of PS1 games had pointlessly awful controls.  I'm gripping with it though because it's the only survival horror game I actually like the setting/concept of.  What we really need now is Parasite Eve.

I remember like, three different camera angles for SH1. It was super lame. I still love this series, though.
