Batman Issues

I've googled this repeatedly but when I play batman AA on my PC I get periods of massive slowdown where the game just chugs, then later it works just fine. Also the game will switch quickly between chugging and going smooth. It's unrelated to the in-game slowmo and it doesn't seem to happen when anything specific is going on. My PC stats show pretty light load on my CPU so I can only assume it's the vid card, but I actually lowered them from game recommended settings.

Anyone know of this problem or a fix?

After repeatedly fucking around all the sudden it works wonderful, which means I either had multisample antialiasing enabled.....or I accidentally set it to 1920x1200.

I hate that you can't fiddle with the settings in game.

That actually happens to me very rarely.  I play fine for 30 minutes, then I'll get a minute or so where it freezes completely.  It's not that annoying.
