Item 1: Nexus (Any argument other than this is invalid though i've heard galaxy's are nice, Samsung is notorious for shortening EOL on tablets early) Item 2 Part 1: Do it yourself (I use trustgo security and manually trigger it through that sometimes too but there's just too many potentially problematic ones that it's not worth it to use anymore). Item 2 Part 2: Constantly closing/killing background apps actually can cause instability in your phone or tablet as well as make battery life WORSE (I say this because I used one I really really liked, but they have a habit of closing background running system processes, which if they're constantly closed they constantly need to reboot and that sometimes takes more power and resources than if you just let them be). |

I meant good Android apps not how to end them. I got a note pro for the pen.

I wub my Nexus 7 v2 (2012/FHD) something serious.
I mostly just use Kindle on it, although Netflix either alone or combined with Chromecast is definitely a thing that I do quite often. The 2013 improves upon the design with two massive speakers (for a tablet) on the backside; when held in landscape with your hands cupped around the outside the audio is absolutely spectacular, the hardware is a bit more stable too (I have both models, well, the wife uses the old one, I use the new). Of course, hers is a 2012 V1. If you're looking for a 7 inch tablet; there's no good reason not to get a nexus. |

My tablet has a problem where the screen powers off and then the buttons become unresponsive. I either have to reset it or sometimes the buttons will start working on their own after. I don't necessarily think it's a hardware problem. Does anyone know what I can do to fix? I might return it for a new one but I've become kind of dependent on it and don't want to lose it for a week or two and then have to restore everything.

If you don't think it's hardware, then wipe your data, reset it to stock and set it back up again. Otherwise you're SOL, afaik.
