So I installed windows 7 on my new hard drive. But im running into an odd problem. Whenever I try to install steam, Microsoft office, plus a couple other programs I get two errors 2502 and 2503. It points to errors in microsoft installer regarding permissions. However, all the fixes online that I've found have netted me bupkis.

Have you checked the permissions on the C:\Windows\Installer folder? Checked the permissions for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer as well? Are you running the install as an admin?
