So somehow my stupid ass managed to get infected by one of those viruses that pretends to be a virus scanner last night. In my prior experience a quick system restore has always been enough to get rid of those things, but when I tried it last night it seems to have bricked my laptop. It powers on and then all I get is a flashing white cursor. No BIOS, no beeps, nothing. Any advice?
