Pyro Thread - For Reflecting Silly Projectiles at Drunks and Unskilled Soldiers

Degreaser rapes. I took down a heavy/medic, then took out another heavy watching the whole thing. I constantly burn and cut down scouts who make the mistake of brushing up against me before they can even blink. I burn and puff soldiers, hit them with a minicrit flare, then reflect their rocket back at them then slice em in two before they land.

Best part though... Steam forums thinks it's underpowered.

Because 90% of Pyros do nothing but W+M1 and have no idea how to take advantage of reflecting or Puff + Shotgun/Flare/Ax

I never rely on after burn apart from the flaregun because of how easily it is to put that fire out. That means for me, this thing is a direct upgrade. If all you (simple pyros) ever wanna do is w+m1 around, then stick to the backburner. In skilled hands, I'd actually go and call the degreaser OP. It essentially raises the skill cap two fold. The whole "burn and chop in less time than to backburn" deal means I'm never switchin back to the old flamethrower unless by some divine intervention the steam forums all manage to sudden become decent at pyro and realize just how deadly this thing actually is, which would force valve to nerf it.... EG, never.

I didn't read any of that cause I'm on lunch and stuffing my face w/ pizza and break is almost over, but I saw caff and backfire posted, so I have to throw my opinionated, self-proclaimed proro opinion on the new shit in too, because I'm fucking relevant and you're not.



Degreaser is seriously overpowered, like, holy shit. (It's almost as OP as DR+spykit.)


There's so many ways to be put out now, I don't ever use afterburn, that's why I so often now light you on fire then swap to shotty to do the deed. But my god with degreaser, You can light, puff, shotty, reflect, close gap and melee win, before they hit the ground from the airblast, if you're using a flaregun, you can light them on fire, puff, flare, more fire, another puff and pull out flaregun again, all in the time it's taking for the 1st tampon's recycle time to finish, you could hit m1 when you pull it out the 2nd time in that loop, but you can't fire it yet, the reload animation would not yet be complete if you just kept it out.



I've not yet logged enough time with the powerjack to form a total opinion on it, but I /huggle the +75 heal so much. Everyone forgets, a pyro's job is to be up close and personal, we put ourselves in the crosshairs more than others, save heavy, we take more damage doing our job than you, that heal buff is very warming.

Oh also, apparently you recover health regardless what what they die by, just as long as you have the powerjack out. Basically, say you jump out and airblast 3 people into a pit. Pull out the powerjack before they die, recover 225 hp! Also works with afterburn.

+10% bullet damage isn't that big of a deal for the trade off. take it from me, a Pain Train demoman!  8)

It's not the bullet damage which is the real drawback, it's the lack of an axetingusher. What goods a degreaser if you can't insta-kill anything with it?
