The same should apply for hats, as your hours with a class approach X the chance of getting a hat drop for that class increases to 1. Would alleviate a lot of the, "Oh well i got a hat...but its for a class I suck with/hate playing."

I agree.  Both of the drop hats I've gotten have been for Engi, a class I rarely play anymore.  Would be nice to get hats for classes I actually use, but damn I guess that would be far too logical.

Obvious fix, versions of which have been suggested over and over again on the forums since the drop system came into being.  Valve is fucking retarded and every patch shows it. Why does it seem like Valve is continually surprised at what the community's reaction will be to their every move?

Tie new weapons to achievments?

Yeah, getting items for classes you play more often would also make sense.  But that'll never happen...its too obvious.  No one could be that stupid, unless they were only pretending to be stupid.

They're actually doing studies on human behavior, and they're trying to see how much they can get idiots to drool over shiny things.  The experiment is now over, they've got the data they need.  Each class update is it's own experiment, pushing the line of silly each time.  Engy update is gonna be a barrel of fucking monkeys. Maybe literally.

Do your own sanity a favor, realize you're being fucked with and delete every hat you have.

I'd take that as a sentry gun replacement. Get too close and you're attacked by monkeys.......that sound like the scout. It slows you down and does a little bit of damage.

I dunno, I kinda like the current system. Idled for three hours today, got one item pretty much on the hour every hour. Doubt it'll stay this consistent though. Let's see how much I get when I finish with classes.
