That's weird, I've used xchat just a week ago to show duck something, nothing wrong with the program, are you connecting to the right port?

xchat is a linux IRC client, yes? What server you trying to get on to? Furthermore, are you blocking identd (what is that, port 113?). Some servers will dump your connection if you don't let them get identd on you. Meh, this would be easier if I wasn't posting form work.

It also has a windows port which works quite well... I prefer it over mirc when I'm on windows IRCing. (which is rare...)
