I'd say the original Gort had more than a little influence on newer giant robot automatons which you are saying the new Gort is influenced by.Â

Shame the new one seems to have sucked hard. It also seems that Klaatu in the new one is a huge fucking asshole compared to the original. Also, old Gort > Giant Nanomachine Super Artificial Cloud Gort. Also, it does seem likely that the Starmen were somewhat influenced by the Gort of old.
