I have no idea what I'm doing but does this seem like a feasible king crab build: http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=238&l...0be6fb9eb6
Too much heatsink? Too little engine? All of my other builds are meant for close quarters so I wanted something that can fight medium-long. |

Try this on for size: http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=238&l...e54f98c17c On its own you're good at the 600-675 meter range. With range modules you're right around 750 meters. The SRM is for anything that gets in close but if you want, you can probably swap an LRM in there, you'll just have to sacrifice a bit of gauss ammo to load it though. 11:35 Socks Greatbacon_work: Just accept the idea of enemas. |

@Dtrain: I think I saw that build on mech specs. I was hoping to avoid the windup of the gauss but I guess I should just practice more.
@Caff: I think you meant to say to put more in front? Is 75-25 a bad blend? I already thought I was skimping on rear armor Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |

I actually built that myself And as for the gauss rifles, the windup isn't too bad once you get the hang of it. Just make sure you're hitting "R" and you'll be able to see when your target is about to come out from cover and you can be waiting. 11:35 Socks Greatbacon_work: Just accept the idea of enemas. |

Well I guess I also have some adjustments to make for my Atlas then. That would probably help me survive those brawls that it was supposedly built for...

Also, I think I concur with the notion that mwo should have its own subforum; this thread seems to generate up to several posts an hour.

I already thought I was skimping on rear armor If you're running a build for range, consider that you will be flanked. Think about the average alpha strike damage of a quick medium/light getting behind you. Most configs run around 20 for light, 50 for mediums, and that's point for point against your armour/internals. With your 31 armour in the back plus the 62 internal hp(because internal hp = half of the total armour in the section) is 93 hp to work with. This is why most skimp on back armour, most think they're ok with a taking one alpha, but its all relative to situational awareness and piloting skill. The big defensive hole for the Crab is its foot print. It's profile is amazing, but from the top(where those LRMS come from) its a giant fucking cinnamon bun, dying for some icing sugar. You should def be maxing non-leg armor though. Kingcrab is there to tank and will be taking lots of missile damage. I guarantee it |

Either way, if we're going to add a MWO subforum, can we clear up/archive the dead ones? Like Minecraft and TF2 are hardly played enough anymore to merit the spotlight... those could easily just have a thread here if anyone still wants to discuss those games... |

[/quote] I don't know if I'd say "downhill"; the subforum doesn't see a lot of activity but that's largely because the core that plays it has more of a presence on mumble than the forums. But yeah, it's probably time to get rid of the minecraft & TF2 subforums. I just wanted to dispell the notion that our CSGO playerbase is declining. |
