Is Firefall an MMO?

No. Firefall is first and foremost an action shooter. We incorporated a lot of elements that you might find in various genres, including MMOs, but it is not an MMO in the traditional sense.


How much will Firefall cost to play?

We are so excited about Firefall that we want to make sure everyone can play it and join their friends in the game. When Firefall releases, it will be available online for download and play for absolutely free.


Will there be a subscription fee?

Absolutely not. We do not feel that a subscription fee best suits the style of game we are creating.

Turned out to be an error.  This might mean that someone just flipped the switch to early for it and could be coming eventually...Though I'm curious why it took so long to release, with all the hype for 1943 completely gone.  It was fun, but it's not "a year after the fact" fun.

And in other BF news, Bad Company 2 is rumored to have some more VIP maps, though this time, they won't just be game mode tweaks of current maps, 2 being BC1 maps and another 2 being singleplayer maps turned into a multiplayer ones.  As someone that still casually plays it, count me in along with the Vietnam pack out later this year that is said to have 4 maps at the moment and may be 15 dollars.

maplestory, dungeon fighter and mabinogi make millions a week, I'm sure firefall would do a lot of business via microtransactions. at least the items in dfo last forever and can actually be bought for real gold if players sell them, i'd hope they do something similar in firefall, i didn't see it was free before, i just skimmed, and now i'll at least give it a go
