So far I've only seen 2 other midnight showings, both with the same friends. The first was Transformers 2, and the other was The Last Airbender.

Yeah, I agree that it was a pretty solid movie. The acting in the leads was good enough to fit their roles, and it was well-written. I also liked that they used new X-Men for it, made it feel more fresh since a lot of the characters were new (at least to me, as someone who never really read the comics). I'm also glad they managed to stay away from an obvious sequel tie-ins like other superhero movies have done. I mean there's potential for it (though you could argue that the original X-men movie qualifies as that), but it's not in the same sense that Thor and Iron Man 2 lead to The Avengers. There's also nothing after the credits, just an FYI.

I also got 2 posters for the movie cause a movie club got a pre-screening of it and were handing them out.

The only part of Inglorious Basterds that was good, was the part that didn't have the Basterds in it lol Was such a poorly advertised movie.

And I'm catching X-Men tonight, so hopefully I enjoy.

Yeah, X-men, Spider-man, and The Fantastic Four are all owned by different studios so they are not allowed to cross over or use any characters they don't have a specific license for.  All of the B-squad (Ironman, Hulk, Avengers, etc) are produced by Marvel studios so they can treat it all as one universe instead of a string of separate stories.

The movie was good, felt like it was worth my time, but I have my gripes about it. The story is told ham-handedly and is sometimes either inconsistent or altogether confusing. The pacing is pretty bad, and there are some scenes that last for up to 20 minutes while more important scenes are practically given a cameo. That, and the acting can be fairly poor in some spots.

Aside from that, I did enjoy it and would rank x-men films as follows: X2>First Class>X-Men>The Last Stand

Oh I know that, what I was trying to get across moreso was that the movie seems to standalone well in a sense that the other recent superhero movies have trouble doing (at least to me) due to their inclusion of teasers at the end that foreshadow future releases.

X-Men was really good.  I don't have many complaints with it and I think it restored my faith in the franchise after 3 and Wolverine.  The main characters were great, the story was solid, mixing with real life events, and it just felt less...Silly or cheesy perhaps I would say compared to the previous flicks aside from a few moments that were better off redone or removed, but they were minor in comparison to the rest of the flick.  Probably the first non-Marvel Studio's, Marvel flick, that I really liked.

That means things are gonna get hard as hell if they plan on doing the Civil War arc on the screen, as Spider-Man was kinda a key character in it.
