My college does that exact same thing, I've heard stories from main philly, Cali, Calgary, Minnasota, but I've heard the latter.
I think it comes down to the professor's/College's preference. Blue Crew.....I got nothing flashy set up. |

Man, I used to skip class all the time. And I had small classes, sometimes of 15 people or less. I just didn't really give two shits I guess because I could always get the work done at home with no trouble.
It bit me in the ass a little once or twice but I always recovered or always had a friend who gave me fair warning on assignments or when a teacher made a particularly personal remark about my presence. I'd show up again for awhile and then slowly taper off. I wasn't taking any math lectures/classes though. English major = doing nothing much at all ever |

I once skipped a botany class for 4 weeks straight, one exam to the next (in addition to my otherwise shitty attendance). I got a B+ in the class. I think my overall class attendance had risen back up to about 60% by the time I graduated. Hence, the army and a crappy civilian job. hoo. ah. |

I skipped a history class a couple weeks ago by emailing my prof and telling him that I had to go out of town on business.

You were right, Didzo... not long after working there, my job has become a source of hatred.
SO last time I was at work my boss offered me the assistant manager position. She gave me papers to sign and everything, and I was stoked. I asked if there was a pay raise and told her I would accept the job even if there wasn't, and she said she'd bring it up at the meeting she went to later that day. I get in to work today and my co-worker, the one that they said they DIDN'T want to give the job to, says "Yeah so today you're working mostly on stock in the back because they want managers on the floor selling and associates in the back". "So.... you're a manager now?" I asked her. She shrugs, and says "I guess so. Alex (our boss) offered me the job after she got back from the meeting". So that's that. Seems like it's not my fucking job, and as soon as things get all lined up... it likely means MY hours will be fucking slashed. As if you can slash nothing. I'm so fucking angry at this and the stupid high school politics that are going on. EVERYONE talks about everyone else all the time, apparently, and shit like this job offer is common as fuck. I am not at all inclined to keep it up here but need the few dollars I'm getting way too badly to leave. |

Pyramid avoidance.
There are some classes that are fucking huge. Those, no attendance. It's really only the smaller classes that have the attendance BS. |

The Steps of Dealing with Didzo:
1: Didzo gives you a prediction or responds to a question 2: Denial, often combined with anger or sadness 3: Time passes 4: "Hey Didzo, I guess you were right after all" 5: Everybody is sad and angry, especially since an "I told you so" would not be appropriate Rinse and repeat, forever and ever. |

Gonna approach my boss about it today.
I'm ... feeling extra shitty since this week I've gotten the letters about my student loan payment periods beginning. I hardly make enough to cover it as it is, and there's a real danger that my hours will now go down thanks to the other girl getting the position. Looks pretty bleak. I tried to take courses to avoid working this kind of job for the rest of my life and I fucked it up, and incurred costs of over $30k in the process. Good fucking job, I knew I should never have gone back. Could have remained just as useless and saved myself the 30k |
