Oh, no need for a high powered one to be able to kill insects. I watched a video of some guy harassing a spider with a red laser pointer and it eventually died. But I guess if you want to kill it with one hit then a green one might work better? (It'll be pretty dangerous though..having it potentially reflect off a surface and into your eyes)

would a little 5mw be enough to take down a mosquito or moth mid flight? also spiders.

Why?

And now for an awesome e-Ink display hack.

http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/23/hack-...#continued

EDIT: Ah, it's part of a natural mode in e-Ink displays. The thing is, the hack enables this mode on any application instead of just ones that activate it internally.

[/quote]Yup. I'll just stick to the default behavior, I like how my battery lasts over a month.

Actually, A2 mode is a purely monochromatic mode, so I can't imagine it's very intense on the screen.

Battery life, on the other hand...

EDIT: Hell, even that might not be the case. If it's managed by the screen controller, then since the entire screen isn't being refreshed on motion, battery life would be about the same unless you're truly abusing the screen somehow. Tests would have to be done.

March 16 - Sept 30

The Smithsonian American Art Museum is hosting an exhibit on the 40 year history of Video Games.

http://americanart.si.edu/exhibitions/ar...012/games/

This seems like it might be a good time to have a museum-related meetup (s), peruse the exhibit, stroke one's chin hairs knowingly, and share each other's reactions to the display.

This is probably doable for me.
But later on in the exhibit, like maybe july/august.

I'm definitely going to see the exhibit, and it's always best to stroke one's chin hairs in a group.

I approve of this plan, especially if it involves stroking someone else's chinhairs.
