Saw the new 300 movie. It was fun, although not as much fun as the first.
Also Eva Green is smoking. That is all. Watched Frozen. Manly tears were had. Great performances.

Watched Garden State. That was a movie. It was not a great movie, nor was it the worst thing I've ever seen. It simply was.

Saw Muppets Most Wanted a few days ago, forgot to post about it. I liked the movie a whole bunch, a lot more than the last one in-fact. The songs were vibrant and catchy 9 times out of 10 and the jokes were just perfect. Any kids movie with a Seventh Seal joke gets an approval in my book.

I finally got around to Joss Whedon's version of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, it was shot in black & white, and in about 12 days. Additionally numerous of Whedon's old time friends appear in the film and honestly do quite well in their respective roles, despite me being so use to seeing them in numerous other roles.
If you LIKE Shakespeare, I do recommend it as a quick rental at least. If you DON'T like shakespeare, ignore it, as it's quite close to original text. |

But does it have Michael Keaton saying over and over that he's an ass?

Finally got around to The Watchmen. Had so much potential but ended up being kind of try-hard throughout the whole thing. Even so, interesting characters, good concept, and stunning visuals pushed up to barely a 6/10 for me. Not something I'd really recommend but if you need to turn your brain off for 2 1/2 hours go right ahead.

It was widely considered to be unfilmable and Zack Snyder though the key to it was being incredibly faithful. He was wrong. He gets an A for effort though and an extra gold star for changing the ending to what it should have been all along. |

There are just too many details that have to be included to make the movie work, which would be fine at a smaller budget, but this is a niche where comic books can shine: Fantastical worlds and fleshed-out interesting narratives. Snyder's effort is admirable, but the story and characters is really where it fell flat.

Finally got around to watching Skyfall. Overall underwhelming, though Javier Bardem was awesome and the cinematography was gorgeous.

Watched The Fall (2006) again last night. Really great movie. Not too much in the way of plot, but damn does it look beautiful.
