And launching programs.
And loading files.
And saving files.
and accessing the filesystem....

Seriously, launching PS2 for me takes less than 2 seconds. Loading maps is ~1 second.

Yeah I thought about it some more and I'll stick with my original plan. I like the idea of the SSD for boot time and the like, since most of my essential programs (IM, browser, etc) will be on there. The big drive will be dedicated to Steam and other storage. And my other spare HDD's coming along will be for backups. And it's not like I'm doing high end gaming. The 650 will be plenty fine for me :V. The CPU is the biggest boost since I'm still running a Pentium 4, geforce 9800 GT, and 3gb of ram.

Pretty sure this is a finalized list, with case and everything. Barring what comes up at Microcenter of course. Also price is higher than last time because I found the case I was looking for, and a keyboard. I can swing that. $900 was just what I was getting back from federal taxes. I can afford more than that though. Especially including state refund, and birthday coming at the end of February.

OK SO I GOT MY THINGS

then I built it. And it wouldn't turn on. I let Microcenter look at stuff, they charge for diagnostics since they didn't build it, bluh. Bad Mobo, I let them install the new one since I don't want to risk having anymore issues myself, more charges. Bluh more. BUT I have my computer now, up and running. I'm not on it just yet since I have things to do and it's not totally set up yet, but it's nice.

I also was going to use an old 500gb HDD I had laying around, but it was failing and they told me that. So that's good. They even re-did some wiring, so case fan wires were tucked away neatly. And I got another WD 1tb drive, which was a return. Same HDD, $10 less than the first one. Mostly the same components, some swap outs for what they had in stock, etc etc.

So in short. I have my computer finally and I'm happy. My god the monitor is fucking enormous.
