Eh, nucleus is a great map but we had it on rotation for quite a while not too long ago.

Are we goin to mess around at all with the KOTH bots valve is working on. I don't know why bots would even be necessary, it's infinitely more fun to play with PEOPLE who trash talk and say random shit. But it might be interesting to mess around with them.

I don't think I'm going to put bots on either server, seems like a bit of a waste especially on Red, which is usually full of people As for a KOTH map on rotation I can probably throw up sawmill and one of the custom eqypt themed KOTHs  Sig by Joel |

Would like to make the following changes.....
Add: koth_sawmill koth_basalt_b1 cp_vector_b2 dom_canalzone Remove: cp_switchback_b5 Would Look like: cp_gravelpit ctf_launchzone cp_indulge ctf_haarp_b2 cp_dustbowl dom_canalzone cp_freight pl_goldrush koth_basalt_b1 pl_cashworks_rc2 ctf_impact2 pl_badwater cp_vector_b2 koth_sawmill ctf_snowdrift_b2 cp_gorge pl_frontier I want to take switchback off rotation as it seems to be the one thats been getting the most gripes. The replacement would be vector, which we've had on rotation for a short period, 3 stage dustbowl style map. In addtion, adding in the two KOTH maps and canalzone will serve to round out map types so we never have two of the same map type back to back and should help add a bit of flavor overall. I also picked vector, canalzone, and basalt to follow up the three most popular stocks, I think this should help get people into those maps and get them into more people's map folders. Any thoughts/objections/alternate suggestions? How has everyone liked/disliked the expanded rotation? Â Sig by Joel |

I'd love to not be on Badwater every other map. I mean, it's not bad, it's just getting old fast.

While having more maps on the rotation is great, a lot of the time we RTV right back to badwater/goldrush. Even though we play those maps all the time; it does bring people back to the server. I guess if I had to choose between a full goldrush server for the 10th night in a row, or a half-empty Haarp Iâll take the full server. I think it would also be good to talk about what maps on the rotation we really like. I love Snowdrift. I know there are pretty strong choke points in the map, but I canât remember a time when it ever killed the server. Ironically, in terms of all-talk, it probably has the most vocal critics âI was right on the intel, why didnât it cap, this map is stupid, etcâ. I have only seen the map be a roll a couple times, and stalemates only occur on the first point if the teams are really stacked. Iâm a fan! |

Ive found that with Snowdrift and Haarp, as long as you tell people the reason why its good - because defenders can still block a capture by standing on the point with you just like normal CP. Also as always, warning people a custom is coming is one of the best ways Ive found to get people to download it, less surprise that way  Sig by Joel |

I absolutely love the expanded rotation (I'm with Karth - the less I have to see badwater, the better!) and the new additions. I actually like every single map on rotation. My favorites would probably be indulge, frontier and snowdrift; while my least favorites are probably launchzone and impact2 (I'd prefer something like mach4 or turbine, but I guess we've already had those on rotation a few times). Overall I'm perfectly satisfied with the rotation on red.Â

i've never had a problem with people dropping out of the map when we switch to a custom, at least not every single person
if the server halves, if that, people will slowly trickle back in i use badwater/goldrush/dustbowl to seed because while i'm sending invites to everyone in my friends list, other people join too (04-09-2013, 11:24 PM)Dr. Zaius link Wrote:well i'm not really understanding how it's faster internet. and like google just magically rolls outs this stuff and it's 100 times faster than my internet? why? that doesn't set off any alarms to anyone? Is Haarp on rotation? It owns the shit out of Snowdrift, and I hate Snowdrift.
Worst K ratio on that map. I see Haarp. Snowdrift still blows imo.

Well, there isnât much chance for surprises in Snowdrift. Every point is more or less a tunnel that requires superior aim, coordination, and a solid team effort to push though. As a nearly full-time Backburner pyro, I can see why he would hate it. |

It seems really easy to win imo, unless the other team has 3+ good Engineers. There's hardly any chance of defending the last point once they pass that corner from the 3rd point.

Are you daft? Snowdrift is almost impossible to loose unless you coordinate spies and ubers on a defensive point. Same for Haarp, though Haarp is just a terrible map and I don't understand why it's on the server. The first point of every section is super easy to cap, and the last point is an awful grindfest, especially the final point, which requires you to cram your whole team through a tiny single choke point into a massive open defending room full of sentries behind walls and the entire other team. I'm not sure why we have that instead of Vector, which was at least sort of interesting.
