There's a reason WD is the only one to try doing 10K RPM consumer drives.
They suck.

now you're starting to contradict yourself.
it would have been easier if you just said nothing at all.

Re-read topic , any idea how to flash the firmware update without the PC seeing it ?

Because you wanted to read that like I said WD sucked, when I meant the idea of a 10,000RPM drive that's got the durability of an enterprise drive with the cost of a consumer drive. There's a reason consumer drives stop at 7,200RPM, and it's not because no one thinks that a harddrive isn't the most bottlenecking component of any piece of modern technology.

I'm not a blind fanboi, any company can have faulty ideas.

I'm just not dumb enough to buy one.  Wink

Topic re-read, If the drive isn't visible upon POST, then it's probably bricked dead, absent the equipment to physically connect to said dead drive and reload it's firmware manually. if it's just not windows that sees it, use a bootCD.

Thats a different problem. As Kirby said, you need your BIOS to detect the drive during post otherwise any tool you download will not work.
