I'm about to be 20 so that doesn't have as much of an effect on me. (probably weirds out dtrain a lot though)

I'm really curious about creepy places, especially in the US, as opposed to other countries, since it feels slightly more personal.
I've heard about Centralia, PA and also California City, California, and I was wondering if there were more creepy places around the country.

I'm assuming almost everyone here knows about Centralia, if not, the internets provide a lot of info. As for Cali City, it's creepy because when you Google map the city there are roads leading to nowhere and vacant parts of the city (i.e. roads w/o a purpose of being there) since the city never really became that populated.

Anyways, post creepy locations if you've got 'em!

I know in Ohio there's actually a good amount of creepy places, if only for the local legends attached to them, including old tunnel systems used as ritual sites for cults, an abandoned amusement park from the 40s, "Crybaby Bridges", and Cleveland.
Being a big urban legend/supernatural buff, I'd really like to get a chance to just ride around the state and check these things out.

Well, that title certainly sounds more morbid than it really is. I clicked on the article hoping that it would be about peoples' heads spontaneously bursting.
My head has only exploded twice so far. It's not so bad.

Edit:This is pretty accurate to my experiences:
Exploding head syndrome is a parasomnia condition that causes the sufferer occasionally to experience a tremendously loud noise as originating from within his or her own head, usually described as the sound of an explosion, roar, gunshot, loud voices or screams, a ringing noise, or the sound of electrical arcing (buzzing).
The condition is also known as "auditory sleep starts". It is not thought to be dangerous, although it is sometimes distressing to experience. Sufferers may experience an inability to vocalize any sound, or mild forms of sleep paralysis during an attack.
Sufferers often feel a sense of fear and anxiety after an attack, accompanied by elevated heart rate.
In most cases, it occurs when they are in a state between asleep and awake.
