The first person I've met IRL in the last 10 years that I feel like I could be really close friends with is beginning to sever ties with the Baltimore area so he can move to Ohio to be with his a longtime online friend of his, who he recently started dating long-distance.
All these feels, and the person I was hoping to talk to about it is the one causing them. "If you want to be a Double E, bend over and grab your knees...." "Atom is Sexy!" <-- Donate your own pic to the cause! Victory needs no explanation. Defeat allows none. -Sun Tzu |

That's OK. Ohio is literally the middle of nowhere. He'll be so bored that it will be easy to convince him to return. |

Shit was turned into the apartment office, cash was gone though (expected) and my credit and debit cards were both taken. Mildly annoying, but god damn I am relieved to have it back.
However, after reviewing everything I think it was literally stolen from my apartment, probably while I was sleeping (the stuff is chained to my belt in a way that makes it impossible to steal and makes it really inconvenient for me to take off). Pretty spooky, going to have to make sure none of my roommates ever ever leave the door unlocked again. EDIT: Purchases made using my debit card while it was lost. Fuck!

unfortunately the bank is unlikely to give you your money back because well, it's your money.

Debit card transactions were still pending, probably won't feel the burn there. As it turns out one of the two transactions was actually Amazon prime renewing itself (ironically at the exact moment the card was stolen). So all in all just one fradulent non-PIN transaction of $28 for bus/subway fare, apparently. It's a pain but I only lost $50-60 out of this whole ordeal.

It's not even the bank's choice, really, it's Visa's (Or whoever handles the cards).  Good news is that it's pretty easy, even if it is a lot of paperwork.  Most likely, Eightball will be able to get his money back, especially since the apartment office was involved.  It's pretty obvious he didn't make those purchases.  Just make sure it's done first thing monday morning. |

How can unauthorized purchases be made from your debit card? Doesn't it require a pin?
