For those interested, it's done by playing fret 10 on the D string © and fret 13 on the A string (Bb). The interval is a major 2nd. Now bend the Bb. As you do, the interval approaches a minor 2nd and the warbles in Chewy's call speed up. Slowly release the bend to complete the effect.

Yeah, it just sounds like some weird beat, maybe some light fuzz on it.

I messed with this last night, there's some elements of vibrato, fuzz, and sustain. I get close, but not as good as they do. Mine still has the tell-tone ring of a guitar note around the edges, while they are fully glottal.
