Wow, are some people ever assholes. So basically, I have a job working for my aunt's company. Earlier in the year, we had some PHP contact forms on our site that weren't working and our tech support was kinda useless. I convinced my supervisor (who is also my cousin) to hire one of my "buddies" who's a decent programmer to fix them. Then me and him got the brilliant idea to rebuild the website, since it was rather mediocre. So eventually, I convince my cousin that I can build a better site and so I get started. I made this sweet opportunity for myself and my buddy. Now shit starts to go south. Buddy starts classes, and has a job. No time to even chill with me anymore. Now here we are, site's almost ready to launch, but I need to implement the PHP forms that buddy did. Problem: they're commented in Russian (wow, lazy fucker just copy-pasted them) and I can't understand jack shit. I'm spending a week trying to get them to work, and today, I give up. I ask my buddy if he's down for more work, we'll pay him $20/hr. Buddy pulls the biggest dick move I've ever seen, basically telling me "fuck you, you're not worth my time and effort" and demanding he get paid immediately instead of having to go through the same payroll process as everyone else (which is WAY outside my control anyways), or that I pull (non-existant!) money out of my pockets. Just lost someone I thought was a good friend over money, feels bad.

Let me start off by saying I pride myself in top of the line work ethic, workmanship, Honesty, integrity and so on.

Right now, I work not because I have to, but because it is good for me. To have a routine and so on. I work at a Hotel Restaurant as a Chefs assistant, my job requires me to Prep food, help cook, support the Chef in whatever task he is taking on at any point, Do the dishes and clean up the kitchen afterwards. It is part time, and its extra money.

I do not mind staying late, I do not mind helping when help is merited, or covering the rest of a shift in case of XXXXX things.

Asst Manager, What does this title mean? A manager should know everything about the job, How to cook the food, clean, work the bar, the register and so on right? Asst manager holds no exceptions. An asst manager speaks and works in lieu of said manager and should be knowledgeable in most if not all areas the manager knows.

I am a Chefs prep. that is it. Help the chef and clean the kitchen... I go home.

Lets get ghetto.

This Manager decides since she is friends with the manager (So am I he is my neighbor, we drink beers on Friday.) Not that it matters, and it shouldn't. "I am covering this shift for frank cause the deli worker called out and he is my friend" OK fair enough.

She did not know how to work the register.
She asked me to cut a slice of cake for a customer because she didn't know how.
She asked me to make a milkshake because she didn't know how.
She asked me to make a sandwich because she didn't know how.

So at this point I am thinking... what in the holy fuck are you doing working here? She couldn't manage her own menstrual cycle much less how to make a fucking sandwich. 99.99% Of Females are born with the innate understanding of how to make a sandwich. She already blew the definition of what a manager should know out the fucking window.

I just so happen to be walking by the deli and she says. "Hey nate, will you do me a favor?" Now at this point I have lost all respect for her as a manager. "What?" I reply. She gives me a look as if I had a Swastika on my forehead. "Yes ma'am" I correct myself.

"Will you sweep and mop the deli for me?"

Without hesitation "No."

"No?"

"Yea, No, I have my own cleaning I need to do."

"But I need it done"

"You are right... you do need to have it done"

At that point I was like wow... what a piece of shit.

My work ethic comes from 6 years in the Navy. My teamwork comes from 3 1/2 Deployments on the boat and 2 years in Iraq and Afghanistan serving in combat and Special Operator teams. I took a bullet to the knee and a knife in the back, developed PTSD, and had Severe anger issues for the longest time (Fixed from therapy).

I learned to stay until the job is finished and not to buddy fuck someone.

Now from not being able to cut a slice of cake, to asking me to sweep the floor and mop? She is telling me she is lazy piece of shit, and she likes fucking people over because that work is apparently beneath her. (Advice to anyone; the only thing beneath anyone is the ground they stand on and even that can fall from under you.)

Now, I finished my work at 2230. I was not about to do her job on my watch. So I go in and start sweeping, and I mop. As I am mopping, she is handing off her work to another guy WHO DOESN'T EVEN WORK IN OUR DEPARTMENT... She goes home.

at this point. Fuck this bitch. She did not clean a fucking thing. Didn't take out the trash, didn't clean the cutting board, Didn't bring her dirty dishes back, DID NOT TURN OFF THE PIZZA OVEN. She left her subordinates to dry just so she could go home early.

I stayed an hour and a half after because my Boss is actually my friend, and I did not want to fuck him over.

She is lazy, Bad leadership, un-knowledgeable Manager, and basically a shitty person.

TL;DR

Fuck my life.

Delegating tasks that are either one's own responsibility or delegating tasks to people who have no business performing said tasks is not management. It's incompetence, laziness, or some combination of the two.

That being said, maybe a neutral suggestion to the boss to give the assistant manager some extra training on how the place works might not be a bad idea.

Her open desire to make doormats out of people negates neutrality. Being meek about personnel issues not only guarantees they will continue, it weakens the whole. I think if I was in Panda's spot(even without a standing relationship), I don't think I would have accepted his bosses apology without knowing the cunt was being told what being a leader is really about, and that dignity means everything in a team.

Ordered a new mouse online on Friday, didn't ship yesterday cause of the holiday. Today, it's put out for delivery at 11:30AM, I stay home all day waiting, watch the mailman deliver the mail without ringing the door or leaving a notice. Now tracking says it's at the post office. I live 5 fucking minutes from the post office, they didn't even try to fucking deliver it, and I can't pick it up until 1 PM tomorrow. It's been in Ottawa for 2 days now. Fuck Canada Post.

Mission Difficult sent me a package two weeks ago and FedEx lost it IMMEDIATELY.  It went in to the drop box aaaaaand it's gone!  They successfully transported the package for a grand total of 0 minutes and 0 seconds.  Mission called them up and they had to go look for it and they eventually found it.  Pickup guy probably didn't scan it.  It took a further week to deliver.

So be glad it wasn't fedex.
