yeah, having one for game and the other for steam/web/music is nice. I was also using a secondary so i could run a DAW/music recording software on one screen and have my drum machine on the second screen. /horse

downside of second monitor: you curse the names of devs who don't include borderless fullscreen as an option to the high heavens

I even have a second monitor at work now. It makes things WAY easier, and I have been begging for one for ages.
Having one at home rocks. At first when HeK wanted me to get one, I was like no. That's stupid. Why would I ever need two? Now I cringe when I do anything on a PC without it. Things mine is good for:

Just adding to the bandwagon:
Writing papers. I bought a secondary display which I use in portrait mode. It was insanely useful when it came time for me to write my senior thesis--article, paper, references all immediately accessible. Now it's pretty much dedicated for steam chat and mumble, so I can see who's chatting or entered channel at a glance. Downsides: A handful of games (eg Tropico 3) really do not like dealing with multiple displays--some simply won't run, while others pick up quirky behaviors like not being able to pan when you edge your cursor. Also, the software I use to manage the monitors (DisplayFusion) sometimes acts stupidly and forgets my layouts or switches both displays to portrait or something. |

I typically have Spotify/iTunes going in one monitor with everything else on the second. IRC is too distracting to have up all the time. It's also really great for coding. I love being able to have 4-8 windows open and readable at once.

Yesterday I played in two MTG prereleases, won packs in both of them, then bowled with some good friends for two hours, and for the first time in recent memory had an unreservedly good day, where I didn't feel bad at all for any reason (including self-hate).

So I'm flying out to San Francisco on the 23th of October to go to a show and to visit my sister for the weekend. I'm so excited!
it wasn't that bad of a price for round trip tickets out to there $350. The show is Tested - The Show and I cant wait to see it and to go to the meet and greet afterwards. If anyone lives out that way, I'm open for a drink and/or suggestions for places to eat or go see. Woo hoo ACEN here I come. |

Today was the last of the company BBQ's for the summer. I've been doing the grilling for these at my plant since May; in that time, the company never gave the front-liners a single free lunch. Bought everyone lunch for the last 3 day shifts, but today was just special.
