Lets see what happens when geoff makes the RPS map, hell I started RPS and I think it has a lot of issues with the maps we play on.  It really needs to be short rounds small map with a long run to get to the center to build anticipation, and thats exactly what geoff's map is.  So how about we take a break till then to build anticipation?

what turned FNF/TFT boring to me is that now is full of nobodies. At least for me, what was fun about TFT/FNF is the opportunity to play with ALL of you at a designed time and on new maps. Now it's frustrating how it's full of people who fill the server, leaving some of us without playing, and just doing nothing. i guess most of you know how frustrating is to uber a Heavy, and the heavy starts to punch.. I mean, leave that when there are like 4 people, not when it's supposed to be a evening with more experienced players. That, and Dakota

For the most part, aren't they usually filled with mostly BRB'U regulars? Granted, I have been on TFT for a while but just last FNF was all BRB'U members and full of rps tomfoolery. We even had Heavy Taunt battles on Bessjump XP Agreed with what you're saying though, TF2 isn't nearly as fun with out you all <3

Um, I find playing new maps fun in themselves, you get to try something that you might otherwise never see 24 people playing together, ever.

As for FNF, if you can think of new things to do that don't annoy/piss off half the people that play by all means. The problem with stuff like karaoke night and things like that is that its HIGHLY dependent on WHO is playing that night. One thing I never want to see if a good deal of people up and leave because of whats going on in the server. For example Id LOVE to do a grenade night but i scrapped the idea because half of you would probably not enjoy it much.

One thing that might be possible would be doing highlander via admin-executable configs, while it wouldn't be exactly one of every class, I think we can mold it a bit to fit 12v12. (Thinking 2 allowed for Medic/Engi/Soldier/Scout)

If you have any suggestions there is a stickied thread for them, put em there. Also, not every night has to be something special, there's something to be said for just playing normally with all your friends.

Yeah, and that was just last week, so I'm not sure why were lamenting the decline of FNF/TFT, and I'm sort of with Caff in the sense that, while I love shenanigans like RPS and taunt battles, I get most of my enjoyment out of just playing regular matches with you guys.

On a side note though, Iornman/Highlander would be incredible!

Arena is basically MADE for RPS. I used to do it all the time on the TF2F arena server, it's loads of fun and doesn't last a god-awful amount of time. Also:

The reason we stopped doing pickups and RPS for a while is because it got SO FUCKING OLD. I for one think trying new maps is lots of maps is great fun, same for pickups.

I think we should bundle some ideas for new, "games"  or events we do every few weeks or so.

Something like, melee knights, or something.

Or some hunter-style mode.

Seriously, you aren't going to be able to please all of the people all of the time. If you're stopping events because you're worried that some people will leave, then I'm afraid by that logic you'd have to just stop events forever. Its so damn rare that everyone will agree upon/enjoy the same thing often enough to warrant the idea of stopping something for the few that will leave. I mean look, we can't even agree HERE.

Things are often done with a vote; say your piece when the times comes and if you don't like it, usually the next round or map is all you have to wait for things to change or for another vote.

The thing that I initially loved about this place was the people; call it elitist if you want but it IS more fun to play anything with people that you know. I don't leave if there AREN'T people I know, but really, in the end... ten times better with you guys.

I don't know what TFT/FNF was from the start, but when I came to brb (was still dtoid at the time), TFT/FNF usually lasted a good 3+ hours with semi-serious, skilled play. Sure, things would eventually slow down throughout the night, and that's when people would start acting silly, and that's fine. But the time length of time playing 4realz has dropped so much (and silliness starts so much sooner) that I've quit coming to TFT/FNF because it's not just not quite why I joined brb, but that could just be me. :-\

Actually duck its never lasted for four hours, locked at least. And it still goes on long into the night just like it did before. Its just before the sillyness was less of the things you mentioned and just a bit more creative.
