I haven't been to FNF for a long time. Maybe this Friday...

I find it useful to keep in mind that the origins of FNF predate, and are bigger than TF2, and thus it is fair to say that the practice of gathering together on Friday nights ought to continue after TF2 has gone the way of Rise of the Triad.

During the past year, we have played many different games as part of FNF officially (that is announced ahead of time, like brawl, left 4 dead) and unofficially (that is, some have decided to go off-menu and play something different, like GTA, Gears, CoD, or Planetside).

FNF, and BRB, was not and is not a secret recipe of map lists, admin access, whether or not birthday mod is on, etc.

BRB is about the people you play with. FNF is just when we agree to meet up.

1) I was a random pub once. So were you.
2) The reserved slots always work for me, unless the server is already filled with people with reserved slots (like a full TFT night).

I've been busy, and hence unable to come out to fnf and tft as of late, but I thought it was fine, just lacking in old friends. It's the middle of January and people have other stuff to do. Come Summer '09 the community will be hopping again.

As for a new game, it may just be because I never showed up to Murder Mystery Monday's original run, but I'm rather interested in getting some Ship matches going. I think we should really try and decide on one game we all (or at least a lot of us) want to try out though as it seems like we all suggest things from CoD4 to The Ship, but it's all just talk on one ever gets anything organized (myself included.)

You say this, and yet I'll routinely see server #2 empty... We do have more than one server you know, and that second server used to be full with people who couldn't get into #1 and they still had fun.

Also, as Rummy said (and I said before him), you used to be a random pub as well. If the regulars then had the same attitude as you do now you wouldn't have gotten on the server. You can't lock the doors once you manage to get your own foot in the door.

I wouldn't really recommend the ship anymore...anyone who played after the recent update will know why.

Can't find a mention on Steam news beyond November, and a Shacknews update a few weeks ago said the peeing sounds were tweaked, among other things, but didn't get into what the other things are. :S

Been meaning to ask, where is pl_frontier?  Great payload map we played about a month ago to most everyone's liking.  I think the rotation could use a few more PL's as it stands, but frontier definitely deserves to be added.
