I got Z+ as well.

Quote:Eschatos: If you were fighting zombies, would you want a knife with a serrated or a smooth edge?
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": Houses > Atomic bomb
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": I'd use my fists, unless I get a bludgeoning weapong
Eschatos: Answer the question, it's for a quiz
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": why the hell would I poke a sombie?
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": I don't even know what serrated means
Eschatos: jagged
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": like a knife?
Eschatos: Yes
Eschatos: A knife
Eschatos: Serrated or smooth
Eschatos: I can see benefits of both
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": I guess like a knife, because a knife would be more for stabbing than slashing
Eschatos: Serrated would cut flesh better, could get stuck in a wound
Eschatos: NO
Eschatos: You have a knife, that's already been determined
Eschatos: What kind?
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": uh
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": fuck
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": I meant
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": serrated
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": I messed out my sentence
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": smooth wuld be more useful if I wanted to slash zombies
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": but I wouldn't do that with a knife
Eschatos: You don't slash, you stab
Eschatos: That's the only way to kill
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": that's why I'd want serrated
Eschatos: And serrated would be better for slashing
Eschatos: Smooth is better for stabbing
Eschatos: It doesn't get caught
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": I don't think so...
Eschatos: Serrated cuts more
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": hmmm
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": it's more like tearing than cutting
Eschatos: Well, the point is it does more slashing damage
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": smooth cuts...
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": a sword is smooth
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": and an arrow is more like serrated
Eschatos: It's serrated so it cuts more when it's pulled out
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": and I'd use my knife to stab...
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": that's it
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": better for stabbing
Eschatos: So smooth?
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": no, I want to stab
Eschatos: SO SMOOTH
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": I wouldn't use a fucking knife to kill zombies, your question doesn't even make sense
Eschatos: Pretend that was the only weapon available
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": to stab, serrated is better, while smooth is better to slash, no?
Eschatos: You have it backwards
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": why that?
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": how can I slash with something that gets stuck?
Eschatos: It doesn't get stuck if you don't push it into the wound
Eschatos: The serratedness helps it cut more with a slash
Eschatos: It wouldn't help if you were stabbing
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": a scalpel cuts better because it is smooth
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": you don't stab with that, it's more like slashing
Eschatos: You don't kill zombies with scalpels
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": it cuts, that's the point
Eschatos: Smooth can be used for both
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": I'd still use serrated
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": because it would deal more damage when I'd stab
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": but to kill a zombie
Eschatos: Me, I'd use a falx
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": either way is bad
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": that's not a knife
Eschatos: I know
Eschatos: But it's my personal choice, outside of the question
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": I'd use a small mace, if I can choose something else
Eschatos: A mace?
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": yes
Eschatos: It's going to be difficult to crush a skull if you're surrounded
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": best ways of killing zombies is by bashing
Eschatos: No, stabbing
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": stab what?
Eschatos: Stab it right through the eye
Eschatos: Quick, efficient
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": depends on what your zombies are like
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": if they use their brain to live, either way is good
Eschatos: I thought brain using zombies were the only kind
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": but if it's considered like a mass of flesh running around and slamming anything, a mace wins
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": not really...
Eschatos: Well how would a zombie be controlled if not by its brain?
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": it doesn't use it's organs, and usually, the brain is almost useless when it was dead
Eschatos: But how would it move about and attack without a brain?
Eschatos: It still needs basic motor function
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": how do 97% of the animals on earth move without a brain?
Eschatos: They have some kind of nervouse system
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": yes, located everywhere in their body
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": you don't NEED a brain to move
Eschatos: But zombies don't
Eschatos: They're former humans
Eschatos: They don't grow new nervouse system
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": the humain brain used more to support the organs and thoughts
Eschatos: But the brain stem controls basic movement
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": movement is only a small part of that: dinosaurs had brains smaller than peanuts
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": you have to hit THAT part to get the zombie to stop moving
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": + it doesn't feel pain, so if you don't hit it, you won't get anything
Eschatos: So decapitate
Eschatos: You could also sever it's spine at some point to weaken it
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": but if you smash, even if it's not the head, let's say the arm, well a crushed arm will maybe fall off or, at least, be less useful
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": yes, but can you do that on every zombies around?
Eschatos: Zombies don't feel pain though, so it wouldn't be as useful
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": a quick bash on the head is easier than a cut through the neck
Eschatos: A quick bash won't hit the brain stem
Eschatos: Unless you have godlike strength
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": or a good mace
Eschatos: Ever crushed a skull?
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": no
Eschatos: I think it wouldn't be super easy
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": ever cut a neck?
Eschatos: Nope
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": don't forget there are bones in there too
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": in which the spinal cord is
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": so it is well protected
Eschatos: You don't have to completely decapitate, just halfway through
Eschatos: I think an axe would be best
Eschatos: Combination of blunt and sharp
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": maybe
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": like
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": ax the neck
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": or the head
Eschatos: Try this
Eschatos: http://www.newsandentertainment.com/zFzombiequiz.html
Eschatos: It says smooth edged knives are better
Eschatos: serrated gets stuck
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": maybe...
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": that would be the problem
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": have to pull harder
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": but tears flesh
Eschatos: But tearing flesh really doesn't help a lot
Eschatos: It'd take forever to kill a zombie that way
Eschatos: I think a suit of power armor would be best
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": - .-
Eschatos: So hopefully we'll advance some more technologically before the zombocalypse
Eschatos: 26 minutes
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": yay
Eschatos: Also, no one ever talks about how zombies would have to eat to survive
Eschatos: Moving about takes energy, even if most of the body is shut down
Eschatos: And the body would deteriorate over time
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": yes
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": it wouldn't basically work at all
Eschatos: So really you could just bunker down for a few months and then you'd be safe
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": would it have blood flow to bring nutrients to cells?
Eschatos: No
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": that, and oxygen?
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": if it can, why would the person be dead anyways?
Eschatos: Some other way, it hasn't really been explored
Benito Mussolini "BRB'U": meh
Eschatos: Well, it's possible the circulatory system would remain
Eschatos: Headcrab zombies still bleed
Eschatos: But in most zombie literature they're all dried up

Here's the conclusion me and Benito came to.

For the Record: I've never ran into the problem of getting a serrated blade stuck when stabbing something.

This thread is now about setting up the perfect zombie defense headquarters.

I would look for an industrial warf. Because of the large amounts of fuel, and shipping containers make good barricades. Finally, if you're eventually overrun escape to the sea is the best option.

Where is the escape plan when the mall is overrun? Sorry I can't see a mall working out well besides the abundance of supplies.

My apartment is about 70% zombie proof.  Big reinforced metal door in the front, 3 lockable doors leading up to the apt, I live above a gym so pending on the situation I can use gym equipment to block the doors and we have pretty good roof access to any store for supplies (even a gun store).

Our only problem would be if the zombies rushed our apt first thing and we wouldn't have time to lock the downstairs doors or get the gym equipment up OR if the zombies somehow managed to get on the roof tops.

I'll just cast off and sail away...

you dont escape, thats where they fuck up on the films, you use the resources in the mall to make more, like the bnq in the mall will have seeds and earth, you can filter rainwater and you can use exercise bikes for power. then you wait until the zombies have eaten everything and die .

It's going to be next to impossible to get a mall properly barricaded before the zombies arrive, and entering an already zombie infested mall would be pretty stupid.

I've seen it Dave (not the new one tho) AND I've read the Zombie Survival handbook. I own it to. I'm with Chooly, or ain. Or a military base or prison, those are also good.

Lol F at Emotional Stability on that quiz thing. I also got a Z+ for my score.

And with strange aeons, even Death may lay down in the street and die.
