I wanna make a new thread here sometime since this one's sorta dedicated to the old creative server. I might even make a new banner if I can pull myself away from recettear, persona 4, or minecraft long enough...

Sure they are slimes?  The slimes are supposed to be enemies of multiple size that only seem to have been in the older versions of the game.

We could recreate the first Zelda town (like that TF2 map) :p.  That would make me want to play more than the first 5 minutes of it though.


Also: I figured out a good tree removal method that doesn't take an hour:


Drop a lava source near the tree, wait for a single leaf block to light, then pick up the lava again.

It's called crafting a fire starter using flint and iron. Much easier than lava.

Started a new game and got an amazing location which is like a mountain with alot of it hollowed out.  It looks really awesome and I'm gonna build a home into the mountain.

This server was only ever put up to fool around in while waiting for everything to be fixed.


This is why it was never intended to be formally announced. This is why HeK gave fair warning as well:

It's still not ready for prime time, especially as I am running it from home and will be second to my voip traffic and effected by torrents.

It runs from home, and we're not going to drop everything for it. I'm sorry.

If someone else wants to run one, please be our guest; like I said, this was just for testing and tooling around.

Additionally, the console was flooded with errors from the server.

When they call it an Alpha, they really mean it!

I'm still planning on renting a dedicated server strictly for minecraft sometime in the next month or so. Just need to wait for a steady source of income. Hopefully then with a server committed to running minecraft (not running mumble, acting as a map server, ect) there'll be a bit less lag. By then anyways notch will hopefully sort out quite a few issues anyways.

haha

but yeah its not a huge issue, was just a little strange since usually it runs really well, thanks for explaining

dedicated server can wait till it gets out of alpha tbh

Anythign related to the minecarts? Cause I stumbled onto a second one while I was setting up a road today..
