My sister teaches a second grade class and when she tried to teach them about maps they didn't know what one was. actually though. One of the kids eventually had the epiphany that maps were like GPS and proceeded to say "you know it's that thing in the car, RECALCULATING". the entire class then proceeded to say recalculating in a GPS voice until my sister restored order.

also not from my sister's class but I saw a small story somewhere where a kid in class tattled on note-passers by saying "teacher! they're texting but with paper!"
