Hubble 3D is finally playing near me again. Not going to miss my chance to see it this time. Here's hoping for Saturday.

Saw the final screening of "Exit Through the Gift Shop" in my city. As good as I expected. Masterfully crafted.

I also hear it is the greatest 3D experience to date. Feeling generous? Karf is a respectable human being. http://i.imgur.com/MTVw5.png Thank you, Mr. Pelican. |

Saw 8 1/2 and I have to say, I think I missed something. I didn't understand what the movie was trying to say. I really hope it's one of those things I'll figure out later, but as for now, I'm just as confused as Guido was.

I chose Expendables instead of Scott Prilgrim, maybe waiting to see that later on, cause I was wanting some kickass action and I got it. Expendables is so fun. Definite throwback to the more fun and wild action flicks of the 80's. A sequel is a must. With a few more action stars if they can squeeze them in comfortably in some way or another. Randy Couture was easily the worst of everyone, next to maybe being Austin who was fine cause he didn't talk much. Couture is just not an actor and it's REALLY obvious.

The whole church scene, just everything is so well done as far as the character chemistry goes. It's like they're all old friends on screen instead of their characters. spoilers below The part where Stallone shot Lundgren, the way he pulled it off it was more like he was shooting him as one action star shooting another, not him shooting a character as a character. It touched me quite a bit. But then he was back at the end and all was good. |

I was actually really pleased with The Expendables. I went in expecting an 80's action movie and that's exactly what I got. High kill count, novelty/brutal deaths, double kills (guy gets stabbed in the neck and then shot in the face just to be sure,) and a few decent one liners.
Edit: Commando happened to be on and I noticed the plane they used in The Expendables is pretty much the same one. Also, watching Arnold turn a tool shed into a weapon is awesome.

The Expendables is the spiritual sequel to Predator that Predators should have been, only without the aliens. And it was every bit as fucking awesome as Predator was. My only peeve was the terrible fire effects and mediocre green-screening, and those are just slight annoyances, other than that it fucking rocked.

Then again, he was probably too busy buying cars at police auctions, getting bumped from flights, and making stew. |
