HL Stats?

Yeah ours never did the auto display of stats like most servers.  It was cool to be able to see you session stats while playing though.

I recall Scotty saying something once, that aside from HLStats being a railspike-sized pain in the dick, its was a bandwidth pig.

I'm not sure of the validity of it all, but I figured I'd add to the speculation pile.

I can see that, with a constant stream of SQL queries.
You can help mitigate that by running a database server local to each game server, and have a scheduled binary sync.

Considering the volume of servers that run it, I'm sure we probably had something setup wrong.  That and/or it's because most other servers have a host specifically for stats and we were using the forum's... because I think the problem was it was messing up the forum host.

fuck i was awesome in my tf2 prime, i feel like one of thoose 'jocks' that nearlly made it to the 'bigleagues' and didnt, now they work in a shoeshop or something, why the fuck did they add new weapons to the game, especialy the fucking FAN piece of shit, scout isnt even a real class anymore

what the hell are you talking about you pub starred. every server had like 5 of those it doesnt mean anything at all. also scouts the strongest class in the game and has been since day 1

soldier is the easiest class to play? second slowest movement. main weapon is a slow moving projectile with 4 shots that does massive self damage at close range and is incredibly easy to dodge from long range. can do pretty much nothing without staying close to the medic. generally considered by far the weakest class competitively

fastest moving class with double jump. very high damage (105?) hitscan (see: point and click) weapon. the easiest to pick up of all the competitive classes. generally considered to be by far the strongest class competitively

ill give you scout kinda sucks in pubs with sentries, heavies etc but that hurts every class. soldiers hardly ever have a medic in pubs and 4 rockets is not nearly enough firepower to drop 3-4 people rushing you

and we arent talking about competative play (where i also did pretty well in the low end) we are talking about the brbu servers, every team has one engi and soldiers arent medic dependant, you proove that, apart from when your crawling in pocket medics.
