Impact2 is a great CTF.  I have more fun there than on any other CTF.  If it kills the server, I can't imagine any other ctf custom  (save for mach since everyone has mach) not doing the same pretty much.

Yes, but what other CTF map would you replace it with, Chaos again? mach4 is already on rotation, and we just removed Aurora

The thing is....some people will always leave during a custom map download, no matter how fast your FTP is, they cant be arsed to wait a minute to download something new, even it if its good. If the population drops, spam invites, its simple as that, or if you aren't getting anywhere with that RTV. We'll see how the playtest of Indulge goes on Tuesday

That was kind of my point, they're on brbu's forums posting so obviously they aren't the ones leaving when it swaps to a custom. The point was to not have people leave and you're right. Customs will always make people bail out. So we either pick a custom and roll with what we lose or put on a stock like 2 fort.

Edit: But I'll still take shots at Science2 whenever I can.

Borax is off and replaced with the the final version of frontier iirc.

Oh. That explains why I didn't have to deal with it the last few times I've been playing.
Well, can't we just add Runway and have the same amount of maps as that rotation?

It my opinion to just keep stock ctf maps or none at all.  They are not needed since we have rtv.  A nice vanilla base to a server is good, which is mostly all cp maps.   I would rather just get ride of the ctf maps on rotation.  pl_badwater, goldrush, frontier are fine.

I always confuse impact2 with chaos.  And I often leave the server when one or the other comes up.  Turbine & mach4 rock though; heck, even 2fort is ok once in a while.  I haven't even played indulge or aurora, and science only a few times ages ago, but impact and chaos seem to come up all the time.

Valve should really make a new ctf map or two.

I think we might be able to swing runway, I have to look at the map size again. I want to keep a balance and as you all know its tough to neigh impossible to have a CTF map that doesnt turn into a turtle fest

Runway is basically impossible to turtle because the base hallways are tiny and there's no invincible sentry placement. There's good spots outside, but they're outside and relatively easy to get at.

i haven't played it, but ctf without turtle fortress sounds good (maybe a little too good to be true).

I feel I lost this battle. Then can the server at least have the console say type 'rtv' to nominate a map and type 'nominate' to choose a map to rtv.  ALSO get ride of the stupid european server ip and put in server 2.  ;D
