I honestly don't see why anybody is upset about this.  Those who idled didn't really get punished, and those who didn't idle got a silly novelty item.  So many people blew this so far out of proportion - I was kind of chuckling as I read the blog post; sounded like the typical sarcastic/witty, TF2-esque response I would have expected, not like something that was punishing or demeaning like a bunch of people are making it seem.

I think you missed the point.

I have an awesome new hat, that isn't gay whatever Honest says (his opinion doesn't count anyways, he idled). A brand new hat that many people here will never have.

I agree, I don't read his comics anymore ever since the whole "LOLABORTION" thing. But the comic was never really shit, it just went in a direction that no longer interested me.

As for the newsarticle, I like the way he's thinking about it and agree with pretty much everything he says.

Not gonna bother to comment on Idler because what else is there to say. Idlers are butthurt,  non-idlers are waving around their dicks in the form of halos with a completely unwarranted smugness. I hate both parties involved.

No wait I do have a comment on the idler!  Am I mad I lost my hats. That's a naughty one that a few of you actually went out of your way to ask me, so to properly articulate my thoughts, enjoy.  I'm not so much mad about the loss of my hats (Which were Scout and Spy, Scout I only wore because I had the damn thing but Spy was legitimately cool). What really is irking me about this, and I couldn't place my finger on it till just now, is that Valve never said "Hey, don't use that." Then people could have had actual moral high ground because it was expressed that it was wrong. No Ribo I don't care about your little quote from the ToS or wherever that was from because no one else even mentioned that or probably knew it existed, the damn idler's been out for months. Valve has had at least 2 weeks to notice this (given valve time) and say something before just going HAY FUCK U GUIEZ THIS IS BAD.

I dunno, I just like to be told not to touch something before I smear my fingerprints all over it and get called out on it. You know, put up a fucking road sign.
