i think it would help people distinguish between the servers, but not in a way that promotes superiority over the other
(I always feel weird seeding server 2 before 1)

maybe this contest is an incentive for those who like to change their names every day so i can't find them on my friends list to keep their names the same.

How many people have "Steam names" that are completely different from their account names?  Mine is. 

Does Steam's allowance of flippant name changes warrant a static nickname you could affix to someone so no matter if he goes "CremeDeLaCutiePie@gamergrrlz.com", you'd still ID him on your Friends list without resorting to Alias check?
