Started recently  and this keeps popping up

dunno if it's related. Any ideas?

Valve fucked up the particle system when they tried to allow map makers to include their own custom sets, hence why you get square flames and rocket trails after a map that uses custom particles.

AFAIK, valve is currently "working" on a fix

Yeah, I'll be waiting for it when HL2 Episode 3 comes out.

I've actually never seen the pixalated fire and stuff in my own game, so I assume it only happens to some people and others just wonder what the fuck everyone else is going on about  :Smile

pixelated fire is awesome and usually occurs as an afteraffect of Glacier

you can probably prove this by looking at the first thing trace put down, and then all the other except dust i dont know whta the fuck that is

in short: don't fucking play Glacier (even though it's an awesome map and pixelated fire is also awesome)

I just wish they'd fix the random pauses.  Or maybe that's what you're talking about.  Also my framerate has gone to shit since I played majorly last.  No idea what caused it since that was before the scout update came out.

Everything has always been pixelated for me  in TF2.
