Steam Connection Problem

For the past few days, every time I try to log in to Steam, it tells me it can't connect, and I have to retry two or three times before it finally does.  Then, when I go to load games, it also gives me errors the first few times.  Anybody else having this problem/suggest a solution?

i have sSteam to log in as soon as i turn on the computer, i've been having some connections at startup, but i just press the "retry connection" button and it connects

Are you still having problems?

Seems the other day they did some updates on the friends servers or whatever controls the drops and what not and that screwed with everything for about an hour or two and caused random stuttering and lag among other things

Yeah, I can connect, it just takes several retries.  Annoying, but not a show stopper.
