Now this was an expected upgrade for the Soldier unlike the surprise out of no where one the Demo got. Could be good, but honestly, it's doubtful to pull me in for too long aside from the initial gathering of the weapons.  I was hoping Soldier would get something interesting.  Guess they got two more days to surprise me.

New rocket launcher is mainly for people who are ridiculously good at aiming it, smaller AOE but if you are good enough to hit with it, you hit harder

The rocket will actually be slower than arrows. It won't be the same at all. It's just that soldiers will have to aim at someone, and not in the direction of someone. It will make splash damage avoidable at some point.

This item will actually be very good for sollies that can hit air targets, and bad for people that generally spam rockets around people.

Which, mind you, is not a bad way to play soldier, it is very effective, just like a sniper uses his spamstick or a demo sticky-spams.


I can see this rocking heavies, and maybe even sentries, but other classes would most probably laugh at it.

I think this weapon may break my suckage at soldier...the whole concept behind the main RL is the spalsh damage and your ability to manipulate it to your advantage..a faster rocket means I can actually hit people directly with much more accuracy.

Yeah, it remains to be seen how much this affects the rocket jump.  Even if it doesn't totally nerf it, it may do more self damage as well.  That would make it a pretty significant tradeoff.
