New Patch is BABIES

Since the new patchy, every time I die or kill someone (or someone dies close), my screen hangs up for about 1.5 secs.
Then it's back to buttery smooth play time.  Needless to say it's been annoying...

If anyone knows anything, don't be shy. :-*

I'm having the same problem, and I've been messing with my graphical settings trying to figure out whats doing it.

The biggest culprit so far has be the new steam-cloud support. Disable it in options (I think multiplayer > advanced > near the bottom)

That fixed the lag-on-death for me, but I still have another issue with my hud randomly bugging and crashing the game. Ymmv tho

broken for me too, last patch also has caused massive problems, every 30 mins or so ALL my models disapear, and i stutter constantly. currently reinstalling, hope it works

Did a full "delete local content" followed by a purge of the TF2 directory, every thing back to normal. Except for the rare random server drop out. Sigh...

my issue has been the game crashing as soon as I connect to a server. I get to the choose team screen and it hangs up and crashes to the desktop.

I finally fixed this issue.  Apparently steam super updates a file in the steamapps/cache folder. 

Disabling this directory from virus scans from your favorite anti-virus program seems to resolve the issue.  8)
