That might be the problem, aside from the fact that on 90% of the other servers I've played on I've had a great ping and no noticable lag.

I think we could try switching the server every week.  On Battlefield Wednesdays we change it to Conquest, let it run on that for the week, then switch it back to Rush the next Wednesday.  Alternate it for variety till Dice does something about it...if they ever do.

Now completely unable to join games. Can login for once, just can't populate a server list nor connect using Play Now. It's amazing how they can throw together a game that is so varied and creative in the different ways that it can fail to fucking work (game randomly shutting off, login failures, server crashes, fuck ups when adding favorite servers, and now cutscenes in singleplayer that randomly send me to the beginning of the level). Or is it that the servers crash 75% of the time that I want to play?

I'm actually recommending the people I know who don't have this game to hold off on getting it until EA resolves this issue. But then, this is EA.

Well damn.  Now I'm for some reason getting constant crashes everytime I try to play on a server.  Server browser is looking to be running alot quicker now oddly enough.  Not sure what is up with these game crashes.

OK, so I bought the game. Do you think I'd have any trouble putting my Steam key into the cracked copy that I downloaded to avoid crappy Steam DL speeds. It's basically just a retail disk anyway, but I don't want to screw myself out of having it ready to launch in Steam. I can't use the same key for both installs, right?

EDIT: Just to clarify, the game isn't even installed yet. This is more of a "Can I put a Steam key in a retail copy" question.

if you get crappy steam dl speeds try changing the download server (you have to revert back to the original client if you have the beta to do this) or it's your ISP as I regularly get great dl speeds from steam

as for cd key question, I've absolutely no idea
