BF: Bad company 2?

Still disillusioned by all of the problems this game's been giving me. Here is my morning so far:

1. Zaneyard invites me to play.
2. Start game, can't connect to EA online, can't log in.
3. Try again, can't connect to EA online, can't log in.
4. Wait 20 minutes.
5. Start game, logs in, I select a player and the game crashes.
6. Try again, logs in, selects a player, sits at updating your stats for 5 minutes. Kill process.
7. Try again, logs in, selects a player, updates my stats. Server browser loads for 2 minutes, but works. Try to join through friends list, only to find that all of my friends (most of whom are in-game according to steam friends) appear "offline".
8. Find brb server, try to join, says connection has been lost. Try again, still no luck. Try to add to favorites, sits at a loading screen for 5 minutes. Kill process.
9. Try again, logs in, selects a player, crashes when it tries to update my stats.
10. Try again, logs in, selects a player, updates my stats. Try to use Play Now!, loading screen appears, then disappears without connecting me to a game.
11. Quit. Consider deleting local files. Lament the fact that Steam will not refund purchases.

I actually got to play with some brb people last night and that was all right, I guess. Too bad I can't tell if I will ever be able to do that again. Is anyone else even having these network problems, or am I just some isolated case?

EDIT: Haha, tried again and got sent back to step 2.

So I went to register my other Battlefield games for veteran status and the rifle unlock.  Somehow all three of my 1942/expansion codes were already taken, and so was my Vietnam code.  Also I can't remember my 2142 password and the "Forgot Password" button isn't working.  And Battlefield Heroes doesn't count for veteran status.
