Someone teach me how to fly a helicopter :<

Every time i see a helicopter i'm like "Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet" and when i get to it i realize "oh wait i can't fly these things" so i end up waiting for like half the round for someone to start flying it. Then it turns out they don't know how to either and i end up parachuting down in front of a tank

I kinda want to know how to fly these things

Well as of right now, helicopters are inverted by default when flying.  If you don't play with inverted controls, go to options and check the Vertical Fly box.  You'll have to change it back if you ever use the UAV.  Fault on DICEs part.

After that, it's just practice.  Take movements slowly and easily till you get the hang of things.  You don't need to zip and zoom every where cause your not gonna hit anything then.  Especially with the transport heli's.  They need to be slow cause gunners can be really bad at hitting things I've found out lol

I use the arrow keys instead of the mouse for helicopters in pretty much every game.

Just hover slowly in circles around where you want your gunner to shoot at.  If a sniper starts shooting at you move faster.

also god i hate realizing i have my controls set for flying UAVs (which i own at flying) when i start flying a helicopter

On a side note: I ran a dude over with his teams UAV that I hijacked yesterday, I managed to chill @ their spawn and hijack it 3 times, kill like 10 of them w/ it the 3 times and jack a tank.



I pressed the wrong button and only got a screenie of it, as opposed to fraps footage. =(

It's funny, I can't snipe for beans in TF2, but I can pull off half kilk + headshots with the dude sprinting in Bad Company, or snipe pilot's faces off.

Just a different system and a different pace. A lot has to do with the type of physics system they have in place as well (i.e. whether or not bullets over a distance are effected by the physics system and how much they are so). I find myself using my scope's mildots for long range kills in this game..which is rare for this type of shooter (also incredibly fucking awesome and much more challenging).

You can easily set your own pace in this game. If you want to be sitting in one place for a long time in high traffic areas and just sniper away you can manage that..if you want to run around and be offensive..you can do that. If you can control the pace of your playing as a sniper you can control your actions. It's harder to do in TF2 because you have to be credit to team+aware of your enemies. You have no camouflage..no defensive position or any position where you cant be seen. It's just you and the rifle.
