Hardcore can be tough to begin with, but there's almost no point in small Conquest games I think. Even on the small maps, it'll just lead to alot of running back and forth. Conquest with a full group of people can be quite fun, but only if there is alot of people.
With Rush, it's alot different since the action is focused. It's why I think Rush is the best mode. It can be good with a smaller amount or a full group. I go to Conquest for the variety, but for the most part, I'd rather stay with Rush. |

hardcore itself didn't bother me at all, I think I prefer it, save for one caveat: Noob-tubing assault squads - the kind that hunker down behind cover at long range and have 2-3 guys drop ammo packs and start spamming - are retardedly effective. Not that they don't tear shit up in normal mode, it's just the splash on nade spam rapes so much more in hardcore.
In general I think the assault class needs a slight tweak. Imo they shouldn't be able to set up camp with 2-3 assault guys and spam long-range rifle grenades to their hearts' content (without even needing LoS mind you). Ammo pack regenerating rifle grenades faster than you can fire them off from a completely safe position is just dumb :\. Wouldn't be nearly so bad if whole villages weren't entirely destructible, leaving defense with absolutely no means left to defend themselves, but that's just my impression from a few days of playing. Maybe it would be better with squads or teams that cooperated more, or were a little more intelligent about rousting nade spammers :\ Ripped like paper raped with ease hey scrub nerd pyros suck on these |

I don't think that can be changed much. It does take a good length of time to stock up on grenade launcher ammo and if that becomes an issue, it's up to the snipers to take them out, either with their rifles or mortars. Mortars are great for clearing out a group of guys that don't want to move lol

I'm a fan of Rush. Maybe do like a Wednesday night hardcore and a Monday night conquest or something?

Any thoughts on why our server is having trouble making pop? Is it EA's fault or should we change up game modes or should we get better at seeding?

[/quote] No steam integration + shitty in game friends (that deleted all mine) = hard to seed. But I've seen spontaneous filling of the server as well. I've been restarting it every time I see it empty just in case it's fucked up and not showing up on the master list or something. I know this past weekend EA's servers were mostly to blame, with our server crashing being the rest of the problem. Of course our server was crashing because of EA so yea, fuck EA. |

Starting tomorrow I will be working out a schedule to set the server to squad deathmatch during off peak times.

We now have a working admin tool that can let us schedule different modes for different times. I'm thinking 4 am to 5 pm squad death match, the rest of the time rush. What are everyone's thoughts?

Would anyone be interested in doing some kind of squad deathmatch scrim? Basically Pug out some teams of four and make a night of it?

I like squad-based conquest for the same reason I have hundreds of games played for Domination in MW2: There is no incentive to move, or work as a team in SDM. In straight-up SDM you are most useful to your team if you all camp in the same place or all stand on the outside of map. The worst feeling in BC2 is running around a huge map in Squad DeathMatch and not being able to find anybody for 5 minutes at a time. It is so boring. With Conquest, you certainly can camp the same area, but if there isnât around a flag you will lose. Rush is fine too because of the attack/defend aspect of it (our own G-Pit if you will). |

So same question but with Squad Conquest. |

I don't like Squad Deathmatch, but it can be better than trying to play with 6 people on a large Rush map.
