Also, GameServers server (old, now Silver Version) is currently running with punkbuster OFF, people can see this server in the browser right now, so if you wanna try to seed a server, seed that one.

I got 47 ping to it and it's pretty damn far away. I think it's going to put us pretty high on the server lists.

Didn't have one issue with skipping, laggy or "WHY THE FUCK DID THAT SHOT NOT HIT YOU WHAT THE FUCK." though.

Ping in server is extremely inaccurate and bugged.  Ping in the server browser seems pretty accurate and is really the only thing that counts since that's how servers are ordered by default.

I have been told our old server is now completely full all day and night with the rollback to R8 (or whatever it is called).

I can not express how frustrating that is after hours and hours of trying to seed. Just one little tweak to punkbuster settings and the server is packed 24/7.  :-\

What's worse is we are basically sleeping around town without a condom. And we couldn't roll back our NFO server if we wanted to. That client update better drop soon dammit.

My Guardian client on Silver server already has logged 5 bans by PunkBuster for aimb0tz.


and anything detected by PB is like...old.

i havent actually seen an aimbot on our server yet, a few guys who spin around really fast, yeah, but not 24/7 constant headshots yet

I went through a spat of h4xing in CS:S like 4 or 5 years ago, played competitively in CAL while doing it. My team, any of our opponents nor the league officials ever caught on, did it for like 3 seasons. (This is why I've said a few times I'm pretty damned good @ spotting botters)


The only headshots I ever got were the ones where the recoil off the initial no-spread burst jumped up high enough to plink them.

this game has bullet dropoff right? it's almost impossible to code an aimbot to hit a head with that type of weaponry

Hardly.

Falloff is simply a math equation, and X,Y,Z for both you and target is available to the client.
