Coelit and I traded hats successfully yesterday.

Today, both hats were gone from out inventories.

WTF Steam.

I just realized I still had mine. Coelit is the only one who got ripped.

Figured this news would probably go to this topic.

Not too shabby, I give Valve props for dishing out that kind of dough to community contributors.

Traded my frenchmen's beret for a stainless pot + napper's respite + ellis & pan; traded napper's for 1 refined, ellis & pan for 1 refined, then crafted a Familiar Fez (with the set recipe).

And you weren't even trading with me.

Congrats, versus.  8)

Are you saying I got a bad deal or something?  I came out with items that I sold for 2 refined, plus a vintage hat that I could probably get 2 refined out of (but I'm going to keep it anyways, even though I use the Lumbricus) if I wanted to.  It would've been tricky to get any more than 3 refined out of the frenchmen's.  My only goal was to get two refined to have enough to craft the Fez, since I really wanted the silent cloaking bonus.

No.

The trades you did were pretty fair, especially considering your goal of crafting a specific hat. But I would've done the refined metal trades with you if you had voiced your need for metal.

The only difference is, it would have caused mass outrage and controversy and would have been an instant rip off if you had done it with me.

beret for pot + respite + ellis/pan was good for you, but i think you could've gotten more than 1 refined for the napper's

Perhaps.  But I tend to prefer pricing lower so as to sell quicker; I'm not really into bargaining.

So just got done with a series of trades. Essentially traded 2 S2 Crates for a Amassment of Hats.

Two Crates -> Unwanted Purple Paint -> 10 Gallon -> Amassment of Hats

I'm willin to bet I could turn a scrap metal into a hat if I had enough time (and enough desperate traders)

I can turn a non-polycount weapon into a hat in a few trades.

You call it bullshit, I call it magic.
