Uh, I'll probably make this post prettier later, but basically post your compilation of texture packs here.

FAQ
Q. But Chief! I'm a dumbass! How do I make a texture pack?
A. Easy, twat. You steal borrow textures from other creators and put it into a proper .zip file. It's as simple as that!

Q. Can I make my own textures?
A. Duh.

Q. What should be the format?
A. Uhhh, http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic....25&t=81502. Bam.

Q. If I make a compilation like yours (though it won't be as fantastic or orgasmic as yours) will you put it on the first post?
A. NO, bitches. It'll be on the second post.

-Basically stealing borrowing a lot of textures from around the Minecraft forums that I think are sexy and putting them together in this massive compilation. Most of the terrain.png is from Doku's pack, although I did some editing to it myself. Credits can be found in the .7z file (basically a Zip. if you still have winZIP, grow up and get 7zip please).
-Pictures: http://s135.photobucket.com/albums/q159/...mpilation/
----Password is minecraftan
-Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?z4w909mrmgoy791
-This is a 32x32 pack. The current texture implementer than Notch has will not work with this pack - you will have to manually install (follow directions that are in the .7z).

Essential (not really) Mods

Didn't make it no, but I'm a big fan of this one

Doku's RPG Texture Pack -updated for latest update.

Also, remember to use the HD Texture Fix so the textures aren't all messed up and bloodstone doesn't look like water.

Note: this does mess up the watch, and grass doesn't differ all the much from biome to biome.

I'd also put the Ambient Occlusion mod on here too, but that seemed to have broke with the newest update Sad

Edit:

oh, NOTE! Make *SURE* to install and select the texture pack first before using the hd texture patch. The Doku texture pack uses 32x32 textures, so if you select that in the patcher while the game is using default textures (16x16) you'll get a black screen and'll have to delete your .minecraft/bin folder so you can redownload it.

I am trying this. I've loved his textures so far, been using them awhile, can't wait to see how it looks now.

Hopefully I did it right.

EDIT

I did it right holy fuck this is so SO much better

Yeah.

I was using it before but I didn't realize it had been updated, and wasn't using the HD update thing.

Now it looks fucking awesome and all my chickens are ducks!

OH wait, crap. It DOES work.

Use that to add awesome ambient occlusion to your craft/mining adventures. It's a really subtle detail, but it adds so much.

Does that add a mini-map?

The shading looks really nice though.

Hmm...

yeah Doku's is awesome. i use a mixup between that and the painterly (which is also awesome, and without a doubt the best pack that works with the original resolution).

here's a little something i bundled myself: Soundpacks
so far i've got a kitten pack and a jungle pack..... main focus was resampling those annoying ghast sounds which still keep me up at night..... i just find that these packs make it so much easier to endure the time in hell the nether.....
my last two shots at making packs were a failure (the latest was mainly based on Eduard Khil and was an utter catastrophe..... let's say it worked much better for the lolcano) so i'm still looking for suggestions regarding this venture.....

I still don't want to give up the stock textures.  Like when I build something in multiplayer, I want other people to see it how I see it.  Like, maybe some of the blocks go well together with stock textures (like hellstone and obby I think), but make my house look bad to other people with fancy skins.

INTERIOR DESIGN, you'll be GOOD at it!

Anyway, sound packs sound fun.  I just have no experience recording/mixing audio, so I'll let Vixxen handle it Smile.

so it seems that when i replace the sound sample for sizzling creepers, the game changes the speed for some reason i have not yet figured out (it's not the sample rate)
here's what i have on the creeper troll so far:

tr0l0l0 test1

now i'm trying to tweak the speed of the original sample to even out the difference, which is a bit tricky, but i will keep you posted......

here's one of my failed soundpacks.... i'm not planning on releasing it anytime soon.... too much spam, but some might find it entertaining:

what has science done

keep those ideas coming, i'm willing to handle every request i get Big Grin
