server inactivity

I found brbu simply by happening upon its server one day. Over time, I found it to be my consistently favorite server (hence my arrival here). In recent times, however, the server only seems to be active during TFT and FNF. Have people simply moved on to other games? I'm just tired of playing on bad servers.

I feel like we could get some new people to frequent our server now more than ever due to our rare replay functionality and we should really capitalize on this window of opportunity. If we can get enough new traffic by keeping the server active for the current period of replay madness, it could return to its former glory.

There are..they are just really random times (when people are on the server), but it would be nice if the server stayed full at better times.

It should get a little better since summer has arrived.

I see people trying to get it full every night. Sometimes earlier in the day too. People are on right now actually trying to get it full. It was full for a while last night, probably will tonight too. When are you usually checking to see when people are playing?

Its more active at night, also, people need to seed, especially around 1 - 2pm

I used to do this every day until I got a job/graduated  :-\

I've not seen a problem with inactivity. We can't keep the bad boy up 24/7, ya dig?

I'd say that it just seems emptier than normal is due to finals eating into everyones free time.

I'm on a lot more than I used to be now that I have work again and junk.

Yeah, it's empty half the time unless someone is seeding. If you see it empty and want to play, join the server and spam invites. I'll join half the time and I know others will too.

Also people still have finals so it may be more active in the coming weeks.

I've only ever seen you in the server at like 1 or 2 PM playing either alone or with like 1 other person, and I doubt you're spamming out 50 invites to try to seed the server. People don't join a server with 1 person in it.

I've only ever seen you in the server at like 1 or 2 PM playing either alone or with like 1 other person, and I doubt you're spamming out 50 invites to try to seed the server. People don't join a server with 1 person in it.

Ive always found the threshold to be 8 - 12 people before randoms start filling in rest of the slots. If you can invite that many friends in the rest usually takes care of itself.

Populate your friends list. You've only got 18 on there, add more regulars and people you think you'd like to have around more often. The more people to invite spam, the higher potential of getting someone to join. And as others have said, having people in the server will get others to join, including new people. I've added just about every regular I've seen on BRBU and spam invites to them. About 90% of the time it'll get us to at least 18 people within an hour or so.

I've only ever seen you in the server at like 1 or 2 PM playing either alone or with like 1 other person, and I doubt you're spamming out 50 invites to try to seed the server. People don't join a server with 1 person in it.

I don't usually invite people if they're not on tf2 already

Well there's your problem. Invite people that have their status as online as well and you'll get a lot more people to join.

Now that's just silly.  I would say at least half of the time the reason I'm playing TF2 is because someone invited me in the first place.

Attend TFT/FNF -- send invites to everybody who's on the server.  Or better yet, just pick & choose people you recognize from the steam group.
