Caffeine Ninja Edit

Please put all server issues related to lag/stuttering/replays or anything in between here.

Hey I was wondering why my Replays were not working...
I did the following without any positive result-
Delete TF2
Verify
Defrag
Complete Re-Download
etc.

But then I found out this is not a client issue.
Hopefully Kirby will get to see this but this is what i got in comparison of replays in my console

Console with BRB:U Red Error-

Playing demo from c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\wyattcon11\team fortress 2\tf\replay\client\replays\20110701-002230-cp_gorge_11.dem.
m_StringTableContainer is NULL in CBaseClientState:TonguerocessUpdateStringTable
m_StringTableContainer is NULL in CBaseClientState:TonguerocessUpdateStringTable
m_StringTableContainer is NULL in CBaseClientState:TonguerocessUpdateStringTable
Teams will be auto-balanced in 5 seconds.

m_StringTableContainer is NULL in CBaseClientState:TonguerocessUpdateStringTable
m_StringTableContainer is NULL in CBaseClientState:TonguerocessUpdateStringTable

Console from Random working server:

Playing demo from c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\wyattcon11\team fortress 2\tf\replay\client\replays\20110701-014840-plr_nightfall_final_12.dem.
Redownloading all lightmaps

I don't know what that mumbo jumbo means I'm just reporting it...

Also the Simplified version-
BRB:U Red server Replays don't work
Other server Replays do work.

Also pardon any typos, I'm tired.

Same here. Tried to download a replay while i play on Red. Replay failed to load. Check console for errors. Same errors in console as Wyatt posted.

Go to random server, get a replay, it plays fine.

Caff, Surf, Kirby: please have a look and see.

Replay is disabled. Could you please re-enable it?

Right, I get it, you've disabled replays again while working on it.
And you're angry enough about it that you know you're going to say something you'll regret.
We're just users who don't run this shit so we couldn't possibly see what the deal is.

I understand. I wanted to say good luck. And thanks for continuing to help us out.  :-*

Here's a more detailed explanation as to what's wrong, now that I'm on lunch not typing that and FTP'ing into red in between doing the incredibly large amount of work in front of me that needs to be done.

Before that, someone go get on yellow and tell me if replays are working there or not.

Here's what's going on:

I can run SRCDS locally using the same FTP setup from my server here at home to my server @ kirby420.com, and it works just fine, so does every other server, as has been mentioned.

The commonality here is red, obviously. I won't go into too much detail here, but suffice to say red is a hodgepodge on the back-end, and that complicates matters for me even more than they already are. I need to find out exactly what plugin is breaking replay. Right now I'm still operating under the assumption that reserved slots are responsible, because right now that's all I have to go on.

To fix this, I need to reconfigure a bunch of shit Caffiene's server, and blah blah admin shit here, that all takes A) time and B) I need to wait until the server is empty, lock it, do shit, restart it and wait around for an hour or two, waiting to see if it fucks up again. If it does, I need to A) restart the server again and B) Come up with another idea of what just broke it again, rinse and repeat.

Yellow's FTP info is copy/paste from red's server.cfg file, ergo the problem lies in the configuration of red.

I'm long on free time and short on experience; is there anything else I can do to help you?

New update today. Fixes replay taking up a slot. Might not have anything to do with anything.

Other admins are reporting this stops replay acting like a bot completely, replays are back on. Cross your fingers.

Replay icon is in server browser for red, but hitting f6 gives "the server is not capturing replays now."

Probably because it hasn't changed maps since I re-enabled replays.

Oh good, so it only took Valve 4 days shy of 2 months to fix a bug that affected the entire feature since day one.
