I'm talking about those days that completely humble you.  You think you're a pretty good player, but then you have one of those days where anytime you are about to do anything cool or awesome someone runs up and shanks you.  Or snipes you.  Or gets you with the backburner.  Or spawn camps you.  Or you run around a corner and get destroyed by some crossfire that wasn't even meant for you.  Or you didn't really see those grenades even when you were standing on them.  Or you just happen to run into that one class that is meant to destroy your class and that bastard is played by someone who is good.

Also if I ever say that I hate you I don't really mean it.  It's just my rage expression.  It's meant in jest.  I actually love you guys.  Except when you drink my milkshake  :'(

I've been playing Spy a lot lately, my least played class. I've got about 6 hours in the past two days, and all the time I'm getting caught in crossfire. Pipe bomb to the face here, rocket to the chest there...probably mostly my fault. I also hate people turning around at the last second right when you are backstabbing them...boy, does that not make the next few seconds difficult.

I think I'm getting better, though, I actually enjoy playing the class now.

If it makes you feel better, I cant play CoD4 at all any more. I only last a few seconds a life in hardcore and Search&Destroy is more like a tv show

But yea, I totally know what you mean surf. Last night on Impact I managed to get something like a 8:1 kd ratio (<3 Dapngwnman long time!). Later in the evening I was getting rocked by so many of Spore's reflected crit rockets that I was down to 3:1. It was so embarassing. ;D

There's always the days where I can never manage to hit an uber on time (like when we had our scrim; I'll never live that day down)

Yea, I had one of those last night. I started playing like a pile oh shiz and I kept getting killed by this shitty sniper. It made me pretty irate.

That normally happens to me at least once a week. Last year when I was playing Call of Duty I had about a month long streak where I could do nothing right.

Yeah, that was me last night as a spy.  Mind you, I'm not the best spy, but I can usually accomplish something before getting killed.  Got pwned with the flare gun while cloaked and jumping off the battlements in Goldrush 2-2.  Was running to intel room disguised as an engi on 2 fort.  2 engis start shotgunning me.  I act like nothing's happening, and they stop.  I run to the intel and get shotgunned once and killed by a third engi.  Got flared on impact while disguised when the shooter missed his target and it hit me instead.  Also, got a crit rocket against a group of people jumping off the ledge on warpath.  Only one died and the force threw me off the bridge and dumped me into the pit with very little life.  Yeah I had a few rounds where things didn't go so well.

Not really. I used to get sooo pissed at games that I'd yank the fucking power cord outta the wall if I couldn't get a kill for 20 minutes. But, over the years, I've learned to just chill, and you will always do at least decent. I mean, I have nights where I can't choose what class I want to play because my usual ones aren't working, but I will settle into something good.

When in doubt, take a deep breath, and go build teleporters and dispensers. Hell, maybe a baby herbert ever once in awhile. Thank god engineer is so much slower paced.

Oh yeah, I absolutely hate those days. Like when I was playing last week, no matter what class I selected, every time I turned a corner, crit rocket to the face, or two level three sentries, or a massive pile of stickies, or a sniper dot on my skull. It's days like that you just give up all hope.

Until the next time you play, and all of a sudden you kick everyone's ass. Then it's fun again.

Sounds like my 2fort experience, EVERY FUCKING TIME I PLAY!

It's either I get stabbed OR SNIPED on the bridge, killed by a sentry going to the intel, medic leaves me when he has an uber and I go in and I get killed, Soldier/Demo comes out of nowhere and crits me in the face. Fuck I hate 2fort so much.

Sometimes I wonder what's worse, telling your medic go ahead and hit it and then getting nailed by a crit cuz your medic was late on the draw, or building up an uber and hitting it too late and having to clean pyro/heavy/solly guts off your shirt.

Then there is playing an epic offensive medic only to be gibbed while trying to find someone to uber (the uber you built by sawing a bunch of people's faces off).  I really wish people would stop yelling at me for trying to be a medic commando  :'(
