Seeding the European server: ainmosni needs YOUR help - PLEASE READ

Hey people,

I've been noticing that unless I start to seed the EU server myself it stays empty the entire day. I'm not able to seed every day and especially not during european day time as I'm at work. I've found that if I start to seed at 11:00 - 12:00 CEST (thats 09:00 - 11:00 GMT and 03:00 - 04:00 CST) the server fills up nicely, especially as it's summer holiday here... So if anyone is able to kickstart seeding at or after these hours to at least get the server going that would be much appreciated. This is especially handy as these are the times when the US servers start to die out so we can have a tag-team mechanic here...

How I seed:

1. Join the server, either alone or with people from irc/steam.
2. Invite all your online/away/busy friends to the game. (You might have to go away and return to get the invite option in your steam friendslist)
3. Play and let the new people join.

When I'm at work I'm not reachable through steam but I am available through IRC/MSN/AIM/ICQ/Google talk/XMPP and I can do admin stuff through HLSW from here... So you can reach me about any problems there.

Actually, I'm not sure why I quoted that, I hate seeding my server. Goldrush does not promote skilled play at all, if Red spams enough, they win. Fuck goldrush.

GRush/Dbowl serves its purpose, we've tried to put in customs...then it loses like 66% of its population when the map changes.

Well, the euro server fills up quite easily if people actually play in it... But those first people are essential, I'm at work on weekdays so I can't seed until I come back from work and sometimes I can't do it even then (especially now I want to write some server scripts) so it would be nice if some others would play on it during EU afternoons/evenings as those are the primetimes here...

To further clarify, once you hit 8 people some psychological barrier gets broken and people will start joining.  It will probably be full within 20 min after you get 8.

So really you need to go and get 7 other people to come to seed effectively.  Sometimes randoms will join before you get 8 and often semi-regs will join when you are under 8 because they like the server and figure it will fill up in a reasonable amount of time.

I've gone on your server alone sometimes, and just waited for other people to join, but I haven't really invited anyone before. I'd try it, if my friends list wasn't full of people who I added and now can't remember why I added them in the first place. :-\

Meh, i'll try to seed the server if im awake and at my computer by then and if i can remember to do it. I can't guarantee much though.
